This follows on from my Barcelona coffee shop guide: this time it's about where to have breakfast, get good pastries and settle in for a long brunch in Eixample, Sant Antoni, Poble-sec and Les Corts, plus a couple of coffee shops that didn't make the first list. All the places are from my list of saved spots, and the descriptions are put together from Google Maps reviews.

Prices are Google's average spend per person, valid as of 30 September 2026. Rate: 1 € ≈ $1.13.

Eixample
Baluard
Eixample · bakery · 1–10 € (≈$1–11) · Mon–Sat 7:30–21:00, Sun 7:30–15:00
Google Maps · website · Carrer de València, 246
According to Google Maps reviews (4.4 from 800+): the Eixample branch of the Baluard Barceloneta bakery, close to the fashion boutiques. Fresh bread, almond croissants, pain au chocolat, matcha bread, bocadillos and even pizza, plus iced matcha and outdoor tables. It opens at 7:30, handy for an early breakfast. The sandwich bread can be a bit hard.
Jaç Hi-fi Cafe
Eixample · hi-fi vinyl café · 1–10 € (≈$1–11) · Mon–Thu 8:30–17:00, Fri 8:30–19:00, Sat–Sun 9:30–19:00
Google Maps · Av. Diagonal, 335
According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 690+): a café modelled on Japanese jazz cafés, with records playing on a proper sound system and a beautiful interior. Reviewers praise the specialty coffee (especially the cortado), the brownies, the açaí bowl and the chai latte. There are plenty of remote workers, but laptops have assigned spots and possibly a time limit.
Kumo Japanese Pancakes
Eixample · Japanese pancakes · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Mon–Fri 10:00–16:00, Sat–Sun 10:00–18:00
Google Maps · Instagram · Carrer de Bailèn, 98
According to Google Maps reviews (4.6 from 5,500+): fluffy Japanese soufflé pancakes, sweet with banana and chocolate or savoury, plus a bao-style breakfast sandwich with bacon and sausage. There's a queue even in the rain. Critics call it an Instagram spot: half an hour in line, another half hour for the pancakes, slow service and uncomfortable seating.
Faire. Brunch & Drinks
Eixample · vegetarian brunch · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · daily 8:30–16:30
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Girona, 81
According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 3,200+): a roomy, fully vegetarian brunch café with vegan options. Reviewers praise the sourdough toasts with eggs, the shakshuka, eggs Benedict, homemade granola, fresh juices and the mushroom coffee in a French press; you can add protein or creatine to the drinks. Some find the prices high, especially for drinks. Expect a wait at weekends.
Orxateria-Torroneria Verdú
Eixample · horchata and turrón · Mon–Thu 9:30–21:30, Fri–Sat 9:30–22:00, Sun 10:00–21:30
Google Maps · Facebook · Carrer del Bruc, 126
According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 740+): an old-fashioned horchatería where many people try their first horchata and call it the best they've had. The tiger-nut drink is naturally vegan and lactose-free, and you can order it without sugar. There's also homemade turrón, ice cream and cakes that people take home as gifts. The lady behind the counter helps you choose.
Sant Antoni, Poble-sec and Les Corts

Fonik Café
Sant Antoni · café and ice cream · 1–10 € (≈$1–11) · daily 9:30–19:00
Google Maps · Instagram · Carrer de Tamarit, 104
According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 180+): a stylish café with vinyl spinning and, above all, homemade ice cream in natural flavours. Reviewers praise the coffee, the affogato, the matcha and the pain au chocolat, which one visitor rated the best of four nearby. Kid- and dog-friendly, with gluten-free cakes and plant milks.
Morrow Coffee
Sant Antoni · café · 1–10 € (≈$1–11) · Mon–Fri 8:30–17:00, Sat–Sun 9:00–17:00
Google Maps · website · Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 403
According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 1,900+): a small café roasting its own beans, with sweet and savoury food and toasts. Reviewers like the iced latte, the spiced chai latte and the cinnamon bun. It's usually packed, you order at the bar (not obvious to newcomers), the seats are uncomfortable and the sandwiches are overpriced. There are some harsh reviews of the coffee and staff too.
Bakers
Sant Antoni · Russian bakery · 1–10 € (≈$1–11) · Mon–Sat 8:00–22:00, Sun 9:00–22:00
Google Maps · website · Carrer d'Entença, 15
According to Google Maps reviews (4.4 from 640+): a bakery with the pastries of a post-Soviet childhood: shortbread strips, pirozhki, samsa, chebureki, khachapuri, Napoleon cake, syrniki with sour cream and jam, plus vareniki and pelmeni. Staff speak Russian and Spanish, and it's open until 22:00. There's also a worrying review about food poisoning from the pelmeni.
La Galena
Poble-sec · brunch café · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Mon–Fri 9:00–16:00, Sat–Sun 10:00–17:00
Google Maps · website · Plaça del Sortidor, 18
According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 670+): one of the best breakfast spots in Poble-sec: Turkish eggs, shakshuka, sweet and savoury pancakes (gluten-free available), yogurt bowls and excellent coffee. The terrace is in the little square across the street, and dogs are welcome. You can work upstairs with a laptop if you order food; it can get noisy.
Garage Coffee
Les Corts · brunch café · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Tue–Fri 8:00–16:00, Sat–Sun 9:00–16:00, closed Mon
Google Maps · Instagram · Carrer de Joan Gamper, 13
According to Google Maps reviews (4.9 from 1,800+): a neighbourhood brunch café in the Melbourne mould. Reviewers rave about the Eggs Maya with pulled pork, the açaí bowl, French toast, avocado toast with salmon and fresh juices; the latte is stronger than the café con leche. It's small and very busy on Saturday mornings: they take your name and seat people in order.
One last thing
Brunch in Barcelona is a daytime thing: almost every place here closes at 16:00–17:00, and at weekends the best ones (Garage Coffee, Kumo, Faire) have queues. Come at opening time or on a weekday, and note that Garage Coffee is closed on Mondays.
