Eixample is the big grid between the old town and Gràcia, and it has more restaurants than blocks. This part covers its western half: the tapas bars on Rambla de Catalunya and Passeig de Gràcia, Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni, from an Armenian grill to tasting menus that take the whole evening. The places come from my list of saved spots; the descriptions are put together from Google Maps reviews, and I'll add my own notes as I visit.

Prices are Google's average spend per person, valid as of 30 September 2026. Rate: 1 € ≈ $1.13.

Rambla de Catalunya and Passeig de Gràcia
La Flauta
Dreta de l'Eixample · tapas · 20–30 € (≈$23–34) · daily 9:00–1:00
Google Maps · website · Rambla de Catalunya, 91
According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 4,500+): a big tapas restaurant with an open kitchen on Rambla de Catalunya, busy even in the afternoon. Reviewers praise the steak with foie gras, the octopus, the bravas, the prawns and calamari and the beef tenderloin, plus fast service that keeps a packed room moving. Not everyone is convinced: some find the food average and the omelettes too greasy.
La Bodegueta de Rambla
Dreta de l'Eixample · tapas bar · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Mon–Fri 7:00–0:00, Sat 8:00–2:00, Sun 18:30–0:00
Google Maps · website · Rambla de Catalunya, 100
According to Google Maps reviews (4.2 from 4,500+): an old tapas bar with a terrace on the boulevard, no gimmicks, with the feel of a place where everyone knows each other. Try the bravas, anchovies, cod fritters, prawns and fried artichokes. Service is quick and it's open from early morning till late; prices are a little above average.
Cerveceria Catalana
Dreta de l'Eixample · tapas · 20–30 € (≈$23–34) · daily 8:30–1:00
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Mallorca, 236
According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 24,900+): one of the best-known tapas places in the city, from the same group as La Flauta. No reservations: you join the queue and wait from half an hour to an hour, but once you're seated everything arrives very fast. Reviewers praise the cuttlefish, tenderloin, foie gras, sangria and the bread pudding. Some leave disappointed, finding the food bland and overhyped.
PUR
Dreta de l'Eixample · grill, meat & seafood · from 100 € (≈$113+) · Mon–Sat 13:00–15:30 and 19:30–22:30, closed Sun
Google Maps · website · Passatge de la Concepció, 11
According to Google Maps reviews (4.6 from 800+): a quiet, elegant restaurant with an open kitchen in a passage off Passeig de Gràcia. Reviewers recommend the sobrasada with honey, tuna belly, bone-marrow steak tartare, flame-grilled red prawns and sea cucumber, and the staff are good at pairing wine. It costs noticeably more than a usual tapas dinner, and some dishes feel overpriced.
Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni

Solo Pizza
Esquerra de l'Eixample · Roman pizza · 20–30 € (≈$23–34) · Tue–Sun 13:00–15:45 and 20:00–22:45 (a little later Fri–Sun), closed Mon
Google Maps · website · Carrer d'Enric Granados, 108
According to Google Maps reviews (4.4 from 1,070+): a small pizzeria with thin, crispy Roman-style pizza and a terrace on Enric Granados. The staff are Italian and so are many of the guests. Reviewers praise the Spinaci with spinach, ham and pear, the Margherita and the caprese. Some ingredients are adapted to local tastes (chorizo instead of spianata, bacon instead of guanciale), and one long-time regular once got a cold, soggy pizza.
TRÜ
Esquerra de l'Eixample · modern Catalan · 50–90 € (≈$57–102) · Tue–Sat dinner 19:30–23:45, plus lunch Fri–Sat 13:30–16:30, closed Sun–Mon
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Còrsega, 232
According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 170): an intimate restaurant with eight tables, eight bar stools and a few tables outside. Experimental but approachable Catalan cooking from an open kitchen; reviewers suggest sitting at the bar to watch chefs Pol and Marc at work. Stylish but relaxed, and prices are called reasonable for the level.
Souvenir
Esquerra de l'Eixample · Russian · 20–40 € (≈$23–45) · daily 12:30–23:30
Google Maps · website · Carrer de València, 232
According to Google Maps reviews (4.4 from 1,880+): a Russian restaurant with a stylish interior after a rebrand and a terrace outside. Reviewers praise the beef stroganoff with toasted buckwheat, the borscht, fresh ingredients and warm, fast service. There's criticism too: since the rebrand the cooking is more creative but also heavier and oilier, and portions feel small for the price.
Disfrutar
Esquerra de l'Eixample · tasting menu · from 100 € (≈$113+) · Mon–Fri seatings 12:30–13:00 and 19:15–20:00, closed Sat–Sun
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Villarroel, 163
According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 3,800+): an experimental restaurant with tasting menus built on Mediterranean produce, about three hours and almost 30 courses. Guests remember the caviar and sour cream "doughnut", the eel, hake, foie gras with sweet corn and a jelly "carbonara". Not everything wows: some feel technique wins over taste, some guests are seated in a corridor rather than the main room, and people wait outside until it opens.
Alt Heidelberg
Esquerra de l'Eixample · German · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · daily 12:30–0:30
Google Maps · website · Ronda de la Universitat, 5
According to Google Maps reviews (4.1 from 2,890+): a German restaurant by Plaça de la Universitat, open since the 1930s, with classic decor. Beer, sausages, a huge schnitzel and apple strudel; portions are big and prices good for the centre. Downsides: it can be inconsistent. One regular got an undercooked schnitzel half its usual size, and another got oversalted mash.
El Rectangle
Sant Antoni · open kitchen, robata grill · 40–70 € (≈$45–79) · Wed–Sun 13:00–15:00 and 19:30–22:30, closed Mon–Tue
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Sepúlveda, 23
According to Google Maps reviews (4.9 from 910+): an open-kitchen bar where the best seats are at the counter, right in front of the chefs, with hip hop playing. Yakitori- and robata-style dishes from the grill, made for sharing; the tenderloin gets special praise. It works for a dinner for two or on your own, and prices are called fair for the quality. The only caveat: the wine list is all natural wine.
Tapan Fast Food de brasa
Esquerra de l'Eixample · Armenian grill · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · daily 12:00–0:00
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Provença, 9
According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 280+): Armenian fast food over real charcoal: kebab, lula, shawarma and gyros rolled in thin flatbread. Try the adjaruli, the tabbouleh and the grill box with fries, salad and pork. Portions are huge and the staff are very welcoming, and they speak Russian as well.
Nectari
Esquerra de l'Eixample · Mediterranean with a Japanese touch · 50–100 € (≈$57–113) · Mon, Wed–Sat 13:30–15:00 and 20:00–21:30, Tue lunch only, closed Sun
Google Maps · website · Carrer de València, 28
According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 1,210+): an intimate restaurant with tasting menus, not far from Sants station. Reviewers praise the presentation, the wine pairing and the restaurant's own cava, and call the set lunch good value (though the menu price is before tax). Downsides: the decor feels a bit dated and the tables are close together.
One last thing
Many kitchens here close between lunch and dinner, roughly 16:00 to 20:00. Solo Pizza, El Rectangle, Nectari and PUR all work that way. If you get hungry in the gap, go where the kitchen stays open all day: La Flauta, Cerveceria Catalana, La Bodegueta de Rambla, Souvenir, Tapan or Alt Heidelberg. And check closing days: Disfrutar is shut on Saturday and Sunday, El Rectangle on Monday and Tuesday.
