This is the Italian part of my world-food list for Barcelona: sourdough pizza that people compare to Naples, pasta a few blocks from the Sagrada Família and a tiny restaurant where the owner talks you through the menu herself. All the places come from my list of saved spots; the descriptions are put together from Google Maps reviews, and I'll add my own notes as I visit.

Prices are Google's average spend per person, valid as of 30 September 2026. Rate: 1 € ≈ $1.13.
In short
- Pizza: La Balmesina and Sartoria Panatieri (book both ahead), and Maramaia in Gràcia, family-run and cheap.
- Pasta by the Sagrada Família: Paisano Bistró, open daily 9:00–0:30, though there can be a queue in the evening without a booking.
- Big portions and cheerful waiters: Gusto Restaurant in Esquerra de l'Eixample.
- Bring cash: Feva doesn't take cards.
Italy
Paisano Bistró
Sagrada Família · Italian bistro · 20–30 € (≈$23–34) · daily 9:00–0:30
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Lepant, 277
According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 6,600+): a family-run Italian café-bistro near the Sagrada Família, known for its house pasta, pizza and brunch. Reviewers praise the spaghetti with burrata, pistachio and lemon zest, the pasta alla gricia, the pinsa, the tiramisu and the spritzes. Plenty of vegetarian options, and the staff speak English. It's popular: without a booking you may queue outside for 20–30 minutes.
Gusto Restaurant
Esquerra de l'Eixample · pizza & pasta · 20–30 € (≈$23–34) · daily 12:30–16:30 and 19:00–0:00, Sat–Sun from 13:00
Google Maps · website · Carrer del Rosselló, 108

Reviewers praise the aubergine parmigiana, linguine al cartoccio, a giant raviolone with foie, porcini and truffle, and the pistachio cheesecake. Generous portions and fun waiters. Downsides: the terrace looks like a fast-food place (plastic chairs, ashtrays) and adds a 10% charge.
Feva
Fort Pienc · pasta & spritz · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Tue–Sat 14:00–0:00, closed Sun–Mon
Google Maps · website · Carrer d'Ausiàs Marc, 157
According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 360+): a tiny Italian restaurant where the owner, Eva, walks you through the whole menu herself. Reviewers praise the fresh bread, olives, meat and cheese board, carbonara, tomato pasta and ragù, plus a long list of spritzes. Many come on their first night in town and return on their last. Note: cash only.
La Balmesina
Sant Gervasi · Neapolitan pizza · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · daily 13:00–15:30 and 19:30–22:30
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Balmes, 193
According to Google Maps reviews (4.6 from 5,500+): sourdough pizza with natural wine; many call it the best in Barcelona and put it on a par with Naples. Reviewers praise the Amatriciana and the creative topping combinations; pizza, tiramisu and a drink come to about 20 €. Book ahead. Downsides: the back room has no windows, and they're sometimes not quite ready at opening time.
Maramaia
Gràcia · pizzeria · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Wed–Mon 13:00–23:00, closed Tue
Google Maps · Carrer de Vic, 25
According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 2,000+): a simple family-run restaurant with warm owners, where many reviewers say they had the best pizza of their lives. The tuna pizza gets recommended, and the tiramisu is called a must. Fair prices, a 5 € Aperol spritz, and takeaway too.
Sartoria Panatieri
Gràcia · wood-fired pizza · 20–30 € (≈$23–34) · Mon and Fri–Sun 13:00–23:00, Tue–Thu 13:00–15:30 and 19:30–23:00
Google Maps · website · Carrer de l'Encarnació, 51
According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 4,500+): one of the city's best-known pizzerias: farm-to-table produce, a wood-fired oven, exposed brick. Reviewers praise pizza No. 2 with tomato and stracciatella, the roasted leek, the chilli oil, the tiramisu and chocolate cake; there are "creative" pizzas too, like a bravas one. Always packed, so book. Some found the pizza not crispy enough for its reputation.
Pizzeria Maragall
Sant Andreu · pizzeria · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · dinner daily 20:00–22:30, Fri–Sat until 23:00
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Juan de Garay, 8
According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 1,200+): a cosy neighbourhood pizzeria with thin, crispy bases and generous toppings. Reviewers praise the black charcoal-dough pizza, the spicy calzone, the wine and the homemade limoncello. Consistently good on every visit, with friendly staff. Evenings only.
One last thing
Check the hours before you go: Pizzeria Maragall only opens for dinner, from 20:00, La Balmesina closes between lunch and dinner, Maramaia is closed on Tuesdays and Feva on Sundays and Mondays. If you want pizza or pasta at five in the afternoon, Paisano Bistró, Feva and Maramaia serve straight through, and so does Sartoria Panatieri on Mondays and Friday to Sunday.
