Where to eat in Poblenou and El Clot, Barcelona: 9 places

· · 6 min read

In Poblenou a lot of places cater to offices during the day: on weekdays there are good, cheap set lunches, and in the evening wine bars and food from around the world. This is a selection from my list of saved places in Poblenou and neighbouring El Clot. The descriptions are put together from Google Maps reviews, and I'll add my own notes as I visit.

Prices are Google's average spend per person, valid as of 30 September 2026. Rate: 1 € ≈ $1.13.

In short

  • Best-value lunch: Xoubas Food, a three-course set menu for about 14 € (≈$16), weekdays only.
  • One street, two places: Carrer de Cristóbal de Moura: the wine bar Lola Divine and the Balkan restaurant Yugoslavia a couple of doors apart.
  • World food: Ukrainian at APELSIN, Balkan at Yugoslavia, Turkish home cooking at Esnaf, Uruguayan at PizzaLuna.
  • For a big group: PizzaLuna has huge portions and can seat a group without a booking.
  • Breakfast: Casa Taos, an indie café with vinyl, bacon and eggs and French toast.

Poblenou

Casa Taos

Poblenou · café & brunch · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Mon–Tue 9:00–17:00, Wed–Fri 9:00–23:00, Sat–Sun 10:00–17:00
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Pere IV, 100

According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 450+): a cosy indie café with a record player in a quiet corner of Poblenou, as if preserved from the 2010s. Reviewers praise the scrambled eggs with bacon, jamón toasts, French toast, yogurt bowl and the coffee. The menu is small and simple, it's almost always full, and there's a little hidden park next door where you can take your coffee.

APELSIN

Poblenou · Ukrainian · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Tue–Sat 12:00–22:00, Sun 12:00–19:00, closed Mon
Google Maps · Carrer d'Àvila, 19

According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 100+): a small Ukrainian restaurant with air conditioning, no loud music and no crowds. Reviewers praise the tasting menu, especially the borscht and salo, the Riga sprat canapé and the desserts; portions can be adjusted so you can try more dishes. The pepper vodka really is very peppery.

Amateur

Poblenou · fusion · 30–40 € (≈$34–45) · Tue–Thu 18:30–0:00, Fri–Sat until 1:00, closed Sun–Mon
Google Maps · booking · Carrer de Llull, 101

According to Google Maps reviews (4.6 from 390+): a stylish fusion restaurant for dinner as a couple or with friends, with a good wine list and staff who help you pick a bottle within your budget. Reviewers praise the mushroom mole, bread and butter, asparagus, corvina, sirloin and the pistachio cremoso. A former regular writes that prices have gone up, portions have shrunk and dishes are often oversalted.

Lola Divine

Poblenou · wine bar & grill · 20–40 € (≈$23–45) · Tue–Thu 18:00–0:00, Fri–Sat until 1:00, closed Sun–Mon
Google Maps · Carrer de Cristóbal de Moura, 23

According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 540+): a small wine bar with a wide selection, natural wines included, and small plates to go with them. Try the steak and grilled vegetables; it's a good date spot. One guest called it a tourist trap: no locals, and staff who don't speak the local language.

Yugoslavia

Poblenou · Balkan · 20–30 € (≈$23–34) · Tue–Thu 14:00–23:00, Fri–Sat until 0:00, Sun 14:00–23:00, closed Mon
Google Maps · Instagram · Carrer de Cristóbal de Moura, 32

According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 370+): a Balkan restaurant a couple of doors from Lola Divine, praised above all for its warm service. Try the ćevapi, sarma, bread with kajmak, lamb marinated for two days and the desserts; there's a big choice of rakija. A downside for families: one group with children was repeatedly told to keep the kids quiet.

Xoubas Food

Poblenou · home cooking, set menu · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Mon–Fri 8:00–15:30, closed Sat–Sun
Google Maps · Carrer de la Llacuna, 104

According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 280+): a family place where the parents cook and the daughters serve. The set menu changes daily, with a choice of fish, meat or vegetarian, and gives you a starter, main and dessert for about 14 €; there are gluten-free options. It's packed with office workers at lunch and quiet the rest of the time.

Esnaf

Poblenou · Turkish home cooking · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Mon–Thu 8:00–16:00, Fri 8:00–15:00, closed Sat–Sun
Google Maps · Carrer de Roc Boronat, 102

According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 99): a cosy café with healthy home-style Turkish food: not kebabs but grandma-style dishes, salads, baked goods and good coffee. The menu changes often, dishes come in different sizes, and it's handy for an office takeaway. A little pricier than the set menus nearby.

El Clot

Casa Pepi

El Clot · tapas · 20–30 € (≈$23–34) · Mon–Thu 13:00–16:00 and 20:00–23:00, Fri–Sun 13:00–23:00
Google Maps · website · Carrer de la Sèquia Comtal, 7

According to Google Maps reviews (4.4 from 620+): a renovated tapas restaurant in El Clot with tables outside. Reviewers praise the squid, croquettes, black pudding tortilla, pork and desserts, and the calçotada in season. Downsides: a bit pricey and the service is uneven; evenings run in sittings, and one group was asked to leave before dessert.

PizzaLuna

El Clot · Uruguayan · 20–30 € (≈$23–34) · Tue–Sun 13:00–16:00 and 20:00–0:00, closed Mon
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Besalú, 46

According to Google Maps reviews (4.6 from 2,540+): a Uruguayan restaurant with rustic decor. Pizza is in the name, but people come for other things. Reviewers praise the chivito, milanesa napolitana, cheese fondue, empanadas and desserts, and the portions are huge. It's noisy, but they can fit a big group in even without a booking.

One last thing

A lot is closed on Mondays: APELSIN, Yugoslavia, Amateur, Lola Divine and PizzaLuna. And the area's best lunches, Xoubas Food and Esnaf, are weekday daytime only, so plan them for the working week; at the weekend, Casa Taos and Casa Pepi are open.
