The other half of the Eixample bars: the Dreta de l'Eixample, plus Fort Pienc and Sagrada Família next door. A whisky bar with storytelling bartenders, a snooker bar, a vinyl bar pouring natural wine, micheladas, Czech beer on draught and tapas on the Rambla de Catalunya. The places come from my list of saved spots, and the descriptions are put together from Google Maps reviews; I'll add my own notes as I visit.

Prices are Google's average spend per person, valid as of 30 September 2026. Rate: 1 € ≈ $1.13.

Dreta de l'Eixample
Scobies Irish Pub
Dreta de l'Eixample · Irish pub · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Mon–Thu 17:00–2:00, Fri 14:00–3:00, Sat 13:00–3:00, Sun 13:00–2:00
Google Maps · website · Ronda de la Universitat, 8
According to Google Maps reviews (4.3 from 2,000+): a no-frills Irish pub for regulars and walk-ins alike. Reviewers praise the Guinness, the Murphy's Red, the sport on the big screen, the terrace and the welcoming landlady. Imported beer isn't cheap, but the Jameson is generous for the price.
Snooker
Dreta de l'Eixample · cocktail bar with billiards · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · daily 18:00–2:00, Fri–Sat to 3:00
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Roger de Llúria, 42
According to Google Maps reviews (4.2 from 2,500+): a cocktail bar with pool tables, a proper snooker table and table football. The tables are well kept, the cocktails are good, and you can drink at the bar while you wait. The big downside is a waiting list of an hour or more, so book ahead; it's loud inside, the tables are close together and there's no food.
Veridis Quo
Dreta de l'Eixample · vinyl bar & natural wine · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Tue–Wed and Sun 18:00–0:00, Thu–Sat to 1:00, closed Mon
Google Maps · booking · Carrer del Bruc, 80
According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 220): a locally owned bar with a French lean: natural wines, records and DJs in the evening, mostly funk and disco. If the wine list overwhelms you, just say what you like and they'll pour you a glass. The music is great without drowning out conversation, though the neighbours complain about guests crowding the doorway.
Bar Cugat
Dreta de l'Eixample · tapas bar · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Tue–Thu 9:00–0:00, Fri to 1:30, Sat to 1:00, closed Sun–Mon
Google Maps · website · Carrer del Bruc, 99
According to Google Maps reviews (4.4 from 1,100+): a very local bar with high ceilings and warm lighting, where people linger over wine and tapas. Reviewers like the ensaladilla rusa, the mini burger and the bao, and there are plenty of alcohol-free drinks; you book by phone, but walk-ins are welcome. The downsides: the kitchen is uneven (dry rice, better bravas elsewhere), and one guest complained about a billing mistake.
La Whiskeria
Dreta de l'Eixample · whisky & cocktail bar · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Mon–Wed 17:00–2:00, Thu–Fri to 2:30, Sat 18:00–2:30, Sun 18:00–2:00
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Casp, 39
According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 1,800+): an old-fashioned bar with wooden beams, a huge list of Scotch, whiskey and bourbon, and classic and custom cocktails. The bartenders are the draw: they match a whisky to your taste, tell the story behind each bottle and win over even people who never drank the stuff. Reviewers recommend the tasting flights; it's a notch more upmarket than a regular bar.
Libertine at Casa Bonay
Dreta de l'Eixample · hotel bar · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Mon–Tue 7:00–0:00, Wed to 2:00, Thu–Fri to 2:30, Sat 8:00–2:30, Sun 8:00–0:00
Google Maps · website · Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 700
According to Google Maps reviews (4.1 from 750): the stylish bar of the Casa Bonay hotel, with coffee and laptops by day, cocktails in the evening and local DJs at weekends. Reviewers praise the cocktails, the attentive staff and the food (the gnocchi especially), and dogs are welcome. It can be packed in the afternoon, and there aren't many alcohol-free options.
La Alcoba Azul
Dreta de l'Eixample · tapas bar with a terrace · 20–30 € (≈$23–34) · daily 11:30–2:00
Google Maps · website · Rambla de Catalunya, 94
According to Google Maps reviews (4.9 from 1,500+): a tapas bar with a terrace on Rambla de Catalunya, good for people-watching. Reviewers rave about the roast lamb hummus, the tomato tartare, the pepper stuffed with goat's cheese and rose jam, and the bravas, which are roasted rather than fried. The house sangria is fresh and not too sweet, and the waiters are warm and fun.
Bar Bauma
Dreta de l'Eixample · tapas & vermouth · 20–30 € (≈$23–34) · daily 9:00–0:00, Fri–Sat to 1:00
Google Maps · website · Carrer de Roger de Llúria, 124
According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 2,800+): a cosy bar with classic tapas and vermouth on a quiet street. Reviewers praise the calamares a la andaluza, the burger and the little brioches with chocolate and salt, and the attentive waiters. The carbonara tortilla doesn't win everyone over.
Fort Pienc and Sagrada Família
Pinche Miche
Fort Pienc · Mexican cocktail bar · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Wed 19:00–0:00, Thu 18:00–1:30, Fri–Sat 18:00–2:30, closed Sun–Tue
Google Maps · Carrer de Nàpols, 150
According to Google Maps reviews (4.9 from 187): a small bar that many call the best in the city for micheladas. There are also margaritas in lots of flavours and food, and the staff are relaxed and friendly. Sport is often on early in the evening.
La Bona Pinta
Fort Pienc · craft beer bar · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Mon–Thu 17:30–23:00 (Wed–Thu also 12:00–14:30), Fri–Sat 12:00–0:00, Sun 12:00–15:00 and 17:30–23:00
Google Maps · website · Carrer de la Diputació, 433
According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 1,100+): a small, cosy craft beer bar with a wide range of draught, canned and bottled beer from around Europe and the world, at fair prices. There's a terrace and food specials, and the owner speaks several languages. It feels like a locals' place; one reviewer missed having some music on.
Pivobar
Sagrada Família · Czech beer bar · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · daily 18:00–0:00
Google Maps · Facebook · Carrer de Provença, 505
According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 722): a little bar with freshly tapped Czech beer and Czech food, and a meeting point for Czechs in Barcelona. Reviewers praise the fried cheese with potato salad and recommend a shot of Becherovka; you can talk here without shouting over the next table. The downsides: the room is cramped and a bit worn, and one guest found the host unfriendly.
One last thing
At Snooker the waiting list can run to an hour or more, so book a table. If you're going out on a Sunday or Monday, remember that Bar Cugat is closed on both days, while La Whiskeria, Bar Bauma and La Alcoba Azul are open every day.
