Poble-sec sits at the foot of Montjuïc, and it's where you go for a night out without the attitude. It has the famous Quimet & Quimet with its walls of bottles, a 1920s-style theatre café, two bars on one street and a techno club up the hill. The places come from my list of saved spots, and the descriptions are put together from Google Maps reviews; I'll add my own notes as I visit.

Prices are Google's average spend per person, valid as of 30 September 2026. Rate: 1 € ≈ $1.13.

Poble-sec and Montjuïc
Quimet & Quimet
Poble-sec · tapas & wine · 20–30 € (≈$23–34) · Mon–Fri 12:00–16:00 and 18:00–22:30, closed Sat–Sun
Google Maps · website · Carrer del Poeta Cabanyes, 25
According to Google Maps reviews (4.6 from 5,500+): a tiny historic bar with walls of bottles, over 500 of them. It's standing room only at the counter, where the montaditos are put together in front of you: reviewers single out scallops with yoghurt, foie gras with volcanic salt, Iberian pork cheek and the house vermouth. You get about an hour, there's a queue outside, so come early; closed at weekends.
Tinta Roja
Poble-sec · theatre bar · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Tue–Wed 19:30–23:00, Thu to 23:30, Fri–Sat to 2:30, Sun 12:00–15:30 and 19:30–22:30, closed Mon
Google Maps · website · Carrer de la Creu dels Molers, 17
According to Google Maps reviews (4.6 from 1,000+): a 1920s-style theatre café in a former dairy, dimly lit, with tango and Latin music. The bar serves cocktails at normal prices, and the hall behind it hosts Spanish guitar, shows and even a magician. The downside: there are only two toilets, so expect a queue at the interval.
Fluid
Poble-sec · cocktail bar · up to 30 € (≈up to $34) · Wed–Thu 20:00–1:00, Fri–Sat to 3:00, Sun 18:30–0:00, closed Mon–Tue
Google Maps · Instagram · Carrer de Salvà, 21
According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 114): an attitude-free bar that makes you feel like a local straight away. Interesting house cocktails (some have a very particular taste, so check the flavour profile), house vermouth, a coffee negroni and craft beer at fair prices. There are occasional pop-up dinners and cooking shows, and a trendy crowd on Saturdays.
Luv Bar&Events
Poble-sec · late-night bar · 10–20 € (≈$11–23) · Thu and Sun 23:00–2:30, Fri–Sat 23:00–3:00, closed Mon–Wed
Google Maps · Carrer de Salvà, 27
According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 130): a small late-night bar a few doors from Fluid, where people come for the vinyl; the record selection gets a lot of love. The owner is helpful and the atmosphere friendly. The downsides: one guest complained about the smell, another that a friend was told to buy a compulsory 11 € drink after half an hour of dancing.
INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club
Montjuïc · techno club · 20–60 € (≈$23–68) · Fri–Sat 0:00–6:00
Google Maps · website · Av. de Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia, 13
According to Google Maps reviews (4.1 from 1,300+): a club on Montjuïc with international DJs, wraparound screens, lasers and a very powerful sound system, plus a balcony to escape the crowd. Buy tickets in advance: at the door it can be around 40 €, and drinks are about 12 €. The dance floor fills up at around 1 am, and getting a taxi at closing time is hard.
One last thing
Quimet & Quimet is closed at weekends and on weekdays opens 12:00–16:00 and 18:00–22:30; come right at opening, as later there's a queue. Buy INPUT tickets in advance: at the door they can be around 40 €.
