Coffee shops and bars in Seville: 6 spots, breakfast to late

· · 5 min read

There are no coffee shops in my list of saved places in Seville, and the two bars near the Alameda — Ostras & Puñales and La Federal — are already in the where to eat and drink guide. So all six places here I added on the advice of travel guides and city guides — Sevilla Secreta, The Way to Coffee, Frommer's and others. Every one is checked on Google: still open, rated 4.2 or higher. I haven't written my own notes yet, so all the descriptions are put together from Google Maps reviews.

Prices are Google's average spend per person, valid as of 7 October 2026. Rate: 1 € ≈ $1.12.

In short

  • The best coffee: Virgen Coffee by the Setas — mornings only.
  • Breakfast: Parcería near Calle Feria (until 13:00), or FILO by the cathedral, from 8:00 every day.
  • Old-school sherry and tapas: Casa Morales, a family tavern since 1850.
  • A bar among the saints: La Fresquita on Mateos Gago — standing room, surrounded by Semana Santa memorabilia.
  • Late at night: Garlochí — velvet, icons and a house cocktail; cash only.

Coffee and breakfast

Virgen Coffee

Encarnación · specialty coffee · 1–10 € (≈$1–11) · Mon and Wed 9:00–13:00 and 16:00–18:00, Tue, Thu, Fri 9:00–13:00, Sat 10:00–13:00, closed Sun
Google Maps · website · C. Regina, 1

According to Google Maps reviews (4.9 from 730+): a tiny coffee bar by the Setas where the owner roasts his own beans; guides call it Seville's first specialty coffee shop, opened in 2015. Reviewers praise coffee that is rich without being bitter, the iced latte and the espresso tonic; beans are sold by the bag at fair prices. No pastries and hardly anywhere to sit — people drink on a bench outside. The main downside is the short hours: it's almost always closed after lunch. The Way to Coffee recommends it too (guide).

Parcería Café

Feria · café and breakfast · 10–20 € (≈$11–22) · Mon–Sat 9:00–13:00, closed Sun
Google Maps · website · Pl. Calderón de la Barca, 9

According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 1,100+): a small café near Calle Feria where everything is made on the spot from seasonal produce. Reviewers praise the smoked tuna toast, yogurt bowls with homemade granola, hummus and the banana sandwich; vegans have plenty of choice. Many call the coffee the best in town. Seats are few and go fast, so come early; while you wait you may be offered a ginger tea. Open only until 1 pm.

FILO

Centro · brunch café · 10–20 € (≈$11–22) · daily 8:00–18:00
Google Maps · website · C. Hernando Colón, 10

According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 3,000+): a cosy brunch café a couple of minutes from the cathedral, open every day from 8 am — rare in Seville. Reviewers praise the salmon eggs Benedict, the toasts and the lattes, and there are vegan dishes. You order at the counter; a second, roomier space is nearby. Downsides: some found the filter coffee flat and the orange juice not quite freshly squeezed, and one review complains of a smell from the toilet in the downstairs room.

Bars

Bar Casa Morales

El Arenal · tavern since 1850 · 10–20 € (≈$11–22) · Mon–Sat 12:30–16:00 and 20:00–0:00, closed Sun
Google Maps · website · C. García de Vinuesa, 11

According to Google Maps reviews (4.3 from 7,100+): a family tavern near the cathedral with walls lined with bottles: the front room is old-fashioned, the back room darker and quirkier. People drink sherry and wine and eat classic tapas — the oxtail, pork cheeks, Cabrales medallion, sirloin and octopus get praise. Tables fill as soon as it opens, there's a wait in the evening, and you have to grab a free spot fast. Downsides: some dishes, like the octopus and croquettes, struck a few as average, and you sometimes have to remind the waiters of your order. Frommer's recommends it too (review).

La Fresquita

Santa Cruz · bar · 10–20 € (≈$11–22) · Tue–Sat 12:30–16:00 and 20:00–23:30, Sun 12:30–16:00, closed Mon
Google Maps · C. Mateos Gago, 29

According to Google Maps reviews (4.2 from 1,900+): a tiny bar on Mateos Gago, a few steps from the Giralda, hung all over with Semana Santa memorabilia. Order at the counter — waiting for someone to come to you gets you nowhere; people eat standing up, and there are only about four tables. Reviewers praise the spinach with chickpeas, the meat stew, Iberian pork cheeks, the beer and the mostly local crowd. Downsides: it's cramped and not for big groups, and a couple of reviews complain about one older waiter being rude to foreigners.

Bar Garlochí

Alfalfa · cocktail bar · 10–20 € (≈$11–22) · Sun–Thu 21:00–2:00, Fri–Sat 22:00–3:00
Google Maps · C. Boteros, 26

According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 1,600+): one of the strangest bars in town — burgundy walls, velvet, gilded mirrors and church paraphernalia, half chapel, half bar. There's no menu: nearly everyone orders the sweet house cocktail, Sangre de Cristo, the blood of Christ. The owner speaks no English but is patient, pours generously and keeps prices low. Cash only — get some out beforehand. Downsides: it opens late, and a couple of reviews say it has lost some of its old spark.

One last thing

Seville's coffee shops live in the morning: Virgen Coffee and Parcería close at 13:00 and don't open on Sundays, so have your coffee before lunch. Bars are the other way round — the taverns' kitchens close from 16:00 to 20:00, and Garlochí doesn't open until nine at night.

More on Seville: where to eat and drink, what to see, tapas bars.
