Shopping in Lisbon: 6 places for local labels and vintage

· · 4 min read

This is a selection from my list of saved places in Lisbon: the LX Factory creative quarter and a few shops with Portuguese labels and vintage. The descriptions are put together from Google Maps reviews, and I'll add my own notes as I visit.

Most places here are free or have no price in the reviews; hours are from Google, valid as of 1 October 2026. Rate: 1 € ≈ $1.13.

In short

  • On the way to Belém: LX Factory in Alcântara, with street art, concept stores and a bookshop.
  • Portuguese labels: Ementa, The Feeting Room and Fairly Normal.
  • Vintage: Sons of the Silent Age in Bica and Reuse in Santos.

LX Factory

Alcântara · creative hub · Mon–Fri 10:30–22:30, Sat–Sun 9:00–22:30
Google Maps · website · Rua Rodrigues de Faria, 103

According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 67,000+): a former industrial complex under the Ponte 25 de Abril with street art, concept stores, an unusual bookshop, ceramics and dozens of cafés and bars; allow an hour or two. The downsides: it's very touristy and gentrified now, prices match, and the street market is smaller than it was a few years ago.

Ementa Store Chiado

Chiado · Portuguese clothing and accessories · daily 10:00–21:00
Google Maps · website · Rua Nova do Almada, 96

According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 210+): the shop of the Portuguese label Ementa, with timeless clothing, shirts, hats, wallets and wash bags; many pick up a gift or a Lisbon keepsake here. Reviewers praise the quality, the thoughtful design and very attentive staff.

The Feeting Room Lisboa

Chiado · multi-brand store · Mon–Sat 10:00–20:00, Sun 10:00–19:00
Google Maps · website · Calçada do Sacramento, 26

According to Google Maps reviews (4.2 from 200+): shoes, clothes, sunglasses and jewellery, mostly from Portuguese and Spanish labels, in an industrial-style space. Mid-range prices: not high street, not luxury. There are several shops in Lisbon, each with its own accessories. One complaint concerns how they handle online orders for in-store pickup.

Sons of the Silent Age

Bica · vintage · daily 11:30–14:00 and 14:30–20:00
Google Maps · Instagram · Calçada do Combro, 99

According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 40): a colourful vintage shop with a strong selection, lots of energy and staff who help you find exactly what you're after. Some call the prices fair, others a bit higher than other vintage shops.

Fairly Normal

Cais do Sodré · local clothing label · daily 12:00–20:00
Google Maps · website · Rua de São Paulo, 102

According to Google Maps reviews (4.9 from 39): an independent label with surf roots, everything designed and made in Portugal: good fabrics and fits, jewellery, wool bags. They sometimes throw parties in the shop, so keep an eye on their Instagram.

Reuse Second Hand and Vintage

Santos · second-hand and antiques · Mon–Fri 11:00–19:30, Sat 11:00–19:00, closed Sun
Google Maps · Rua da Esperança, 24

According to Google Maps reviews (4.2 from 90): carefully picked second-hand and vintage clothes, some new pieces, jewellery and antiques, nicely displayed and reasonably priced. The downsides: the clothes run mostly to larger sizes, and staff can be cold with customers. One review hints the shop may have closed, although Google lists it as open, so check before you go.

One last thing

Ementa, The Feeting Room, Sons of the Silent Age and Fairly Normal are in neighbouring Chiado, Bica and Cais do Sodré, so one walk covers them all. Reuse is closed on Sundays, and LX Factory fits neatly into a trip to Belém.

More on Lisbon: what to see.
