The only food on my saved list for Da Nang was two markets, Chợ Cồn and the An Thượng night market. With almost no local food on it, I added five places recommended by 34travel's Da Nang guide and the Michelin Guide: mì Quảng, bún chả cá and bánh xèo, a riverside restaurant and beachfront seafood. Later, on the advice of travel guides, I added the big Madame Lân restaurant on the same riverfront. I checked each one on Google: still open, rated 4.2 or higher. I have no notes of my own on Da Nang yet, so every description is put together from Google Maps reviews.

Prices are Google's average spend per person; prices of single dishes and tickets come from reviews. Valid as of 7 October 2026. Rate: 100,000 ₫ ≈ $3.85.

Vietnamese food and markets
Mì Quảng Hồng Vân
Hải Châu · mì Quảng · up to 100,000 ₫ (≈$4) · daily 6:00–20:30
Google Maps · 59C Lê Hồng Phong
According to Google Maps reviews (4.4 from 290+): mì Quảng, the region's wide rice noodles in a small amount of rich broth, made here with jellyfish, shrimp or everything at once. A bowl is about 50,000 ₫ (≈$2), you sit on tiny plastic stools, and the staff will mix the sauces in for you if you don't know how. Opinions differ: some call it the best bowl in town, others find it a little bland. The Michelin Guide lists it too (Bib Gourmand).
Bún Chả Cá 109
Hải Châu · bún chả cá · up to 100,000 ₫ (≈$4) · daily 6:00–22:00
Google Maps · 109 Nguyễn Chí Thanh
According to Google Maps reviews (4.2 from 2,000+): bún chả cá, rice noodle soup with fish cakes, is Da Nang's breakfast. The broth is light and slightly sweet (there's pineapple in it), the fish cakes are springy, and besides fish there are crab, mackerel and tuna versions. Regulars' advice: add lime, pickled onion, chilli garlic and a little shrimp paste, or the soup tastes flat. A plain, no-frills eatery. The Michelin Guide lists it too (entry).
Bánh Xèo Bà Dưỡng
Hải Châu · bánh xèo · up to 100,000 ₫ (≈$4) · daily 9:30–21:30
Google Maps · 280/23 Hoàng Diệu, at the end of the alley
According to Google Maps reviews (4.3 from 10,700+): the famous crispy bánh xèo pancakes with pork, shrimp and bean sprouts, rolled in rice paper with herbs. But the real draw is the dipping sauce, with free refills. Also recommended: nem lụi skewers and beef grilled in lá lốt leaves. Inside it's chaos: noisy, napkins on the floor, you often have to find your own table, and at lunchtime there's barely a free seat. It's pricey for bánh xèo, but most people think it's worth it.
Ăn Thôi
Hải Châu · Vietnamese · 100,000–300,000 ₫ (≈$4–12) · daily 10:30–21:30
Google Maps · website · 114 Bạch Đằng
According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 8,100+): a Vietnamese restaurant on the Hàn River promenade where you can try a lot in one sitting. Reviewers praise the garlic butter prawns (the staff peel them for you), crispy bánh xèo, pineapple fried rice, pomelo salad and a soup with stuffed squid. Portions are big; three dishes are plenty for two. Without a booking the queue can reach 45 minutes, though the staff bring water and fans to people waiting. Both 34travel and the Michelin Guide recommend it.
Nhà hàng Madame Lân
Hải Châu · Vietnamese · 200,000–700,000 ₫ (≈$8–27) · daily 6:30–21:30
Google Maps · website · 04 Bạch Đằng
According to Google Maps reviews (4.3 from 14,000+): a big restaurant by the Hàn River, with an open courtyard hung with coloured lanterns and several dining rooms, so there's room even for a large group. The menu is long and easy to navigate; reviewers praise the grilled scallops, seafood fried rice, grilled pork neck and the excellent service. Many call it a safe choice for a first taste of Vietnamese food: tasty but no revelation, and a little pricier than average.
Bé Ni 2
An Hải · seafood · open 24 hours
Google Maps · 228 Võ Nguyên Giáp
According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 14,400+): a big, loud seafood restaurant across the road from the beach, where you pick fish, crab, prawns, clams and oysters live from the tanks. Reviewers love the sea snails, the garlic butter sauces and the clam soup, and the staff shell everything for you; there are set menus for groups and for one. Fair prices, except for lobster. A queue builds in the evening, so come by 17:00 or book; the floor can be very slippery. The Michelin Guide lists it too (Bib Gourmand).
Chợ Cồn (Con Market)
Hải Châu · big local market · daily 7:00–19:00
Google Maps · 90 Hùng Vương
According to Google Maps reviews (4.3 from 23,000+): a huge, noisy market where locals rather than tourists shop: produce, nuts and snacks, spices, kitchenware, clothes. The highlight is the food court: dishes for 30,000–60,000 ₫ (≈$1–2.50), big portions, and the famous kem bơ avocado ice cream and avocado smoothies. Bargain. It gets very hot and cramped in the middle of the day.
Chợ đêm An Thượng (An Thuong Night Market)
Ngũ Hành Sơn · night market near the beach · daily 18:00–23:00
Google Maps · Trần Bạch Đằng
According to Google Maps reviews (4.0 from 11,600+): a new covered market in the An Thượng tourist quarter near Mỹ Khê beach, with souvenirs, crafts, beach supplies and food stalls. Despite the name, many stalls are open from the morning. Part of it was recently under renovation, and a fair share of the reviews are really about the scooter rentals nearby.
One last thing
Bún chả cá and mì Quảng are breakfast food here: Bún Chả Cá 109 and Mì Quảng Hồng Vân open at 6:00. In the evening the popular places fill up, so book Ăn Thôi and Bé Ni 2 or get there early, by 17:00.
