Best bars in Da Nang: 7 for cocktails, rooftops and beach

· · 5 min read

The only bar on my saved list for Da Nang was the East West Brewing brewery; it's in the coffee, beer and pizza piece along with Bia Nhà. All seven places here are ones I added on the advice of travel guides, above all an independent guide to Da Nang's bars, and checked on Google: still open, rated 4.3 or higher. I have no notes of my own on them; the descriptions are put together from Google Maps reviews.

Prices are Google's average spend per person, valid as of 7 October 2026. Rate: 100,000 ₫ ≈ $3.85.

In short

  • Cocktails that taste of Vietnamese food: phở, mì Quảng and bò kho in a glass at Tê Bar.
  • Live music every night: The 1920's Lounge, usually jazz on Thursdays.
  • Views from above: Sky36 on the 36th floor of the Novotel (a club after 22:00) and Gypsy, ten floors up with a pool.
  • On the beach: Maia Beach Bar on Mỹ Khê, loungers by day and a DJ in the evening.
  • An Thượng: the Section 30 pub and the Cáliz wine bar, a couple of blocks from the sea.

Cocktails and live music

Tê Bar

Hải Châu · cocktail bar · 100,000–500,000 ₫ (≈$4–19) · daily 19:00–1:30
Google Maps · Facebook · 39-41 Nguyễn Thái Học, 3rd floor

According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 820+): a hidden third-floor bar with cocktails based on Vietnamese dishes: phở, mì Quảng, bò kho. The phở cocktail gets special praise for how closely it captures the soup's aroma while balancing sweet and savoury. A dark, cosy room with music soft enough to talk over. Friendly bartenders, and sometimes a welcome tequila shot. The downside: smoking isn't banned inside.

The 1920's Lounge

Hải Châu · live music bar · 200,000–600,000 ₫ (≈$8–23) · daily 19:00–1:30
Google Maps · Facebook · 53 Trần Quốc Toản

According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 3,700+): a 1920s-style bar with live music every night, usually jazz on Thursdays, and shisha too. Everyone loves the interior. It's busy in the evening, so book, especially for a group. On the downside, service can be inattentive, some found the Old Fashioned light on whisky, and couples have been asked to move for a bigger party.

Sky36 Bar Da Nang

Hải Châu · rooftop bar and club · daily 18:00–2:00
Google Maps · 34-36 Bạch Đằng

According to Google Maps reviews (4.3 from 3,100+): a bar on the top floor, the 36th, of the Novotel by the Hàn River, with its own entrance and lift. City views, a DJ, dancers and even a small fire show; it really fills up after 22:00. It's expensive, and everyone going knows it; the food is uneven, from raves to a pizza that tasted microwaved.

Rooftops and the beach

Gypsy Rooftop Restaurant & Bar

Hải Châu · rooftop restaurant and bar · from 1,000,000 ₫ (≈$39) · daily 17:00–23:30
Google Maps · website · 20 Đống Đa, 10th floor

According to Google Maps reviews (4.9 from 2,500+): a restaurant and bar on the tenth floor with a poolside lounge and a 180-degree view of the city. The food is Mediterranean with Vietnamese touches; the scallops, lamb skewers, truffle pasta and wagyu get the praise, and so do the cocktails. Service is attentive without hovering, and people often come for a birthday or a special night. The most expensive place on this list.

Maia Beach Bar

Mỹ Khê · beach bar · 100,000–600,000 ₫ (≈$4–23) · daily 7:00–1:00
Google Maps · Facebook · 284 Võ Nguyên Giáp

According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 5,300+): the smartest beach club on Mỹ Khê, with loungers, stylish décor, sea views and a DJ every day. Good both for a beach day and for a sunset cocktail; reviewers praise the attentive staff. The kitchen closes before the bar does, so after 22:00 there's no food.

Beer and wine in An Thượng

Section 30

An Thượng · pub, craft beer and burgers · 100,000–300,000 ₫ (≈$4–12) · daily 16:00–1:00
Google Maps · website · Lô 24, 25 An Thượng 30

According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 1,300+): a big two-level pub in the An Thượng quarter, with plenty of room, fans, cold beer for under two dollars and good music, sometimes live. The food is Western: the pulled pork burger, schnitzel, lasagne and fish and chips get the praise. Fun staff, who even hand out mosquito spray. Not every burger lands; one diner found the smash patty pressed too thin.

Cáliz Wine Bar & Spanish Eatery

An Thượng · wine bar · Sun–Thu 17:00–0:00, Fri–Sat 17:00–1:00
Google Maps · website · 47-49 An Thượng 3

According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 330+): a Spanish-style wine bar near Mỹ Khê beach, with a big choice of wines by the glass in proper glasses, two wine lists (for beginners and for experts) and food to go with them. The staff know their wine. There are tables outside and sometimes quiet live music. Not cheap.

One last thing

Da Nang's bars sit in two areas: the centre by the Hàn River (Tê Bar, The 1920's Lounge, Sky36, Gypsy) and the An Thượng quarter by Mỹ Khê beach (Section 30, Cáliz, Maia), so take a Grab between them. Tê Bar and The 1920's Lounge only open at 19:00, so catch the sunset on a rooftop or the beach.
