In spring 2022 Tbilisi was one of my two bases for a trip around Georgia and Armenia. My saved-places list ended up with eight bars: wine restaurants, the tiny craft beer bars of Sololaki and a few places that stay open deep into the night. So far the descriptions are compiled from Google Maps reviews, and I'll add my own notes over time.
Prices are Google's average spend per person, valid as of 1 October 2026. Rate: 1 ₾ ≈ $0.38.
In short
- Craft beer and tiny bars: Sma, Ploho and Tsota Tsota, all in Sololaki or near Rustaveli.

Wine and bars

Sulico Wine Restaurant
Sololaki · wine restaurant · 50–100 ₾ (≈$19–38) · Mon–Thu 15:00–0:30, Fri–Sun until 1:00
Google Maps · Facebook · 27 Mikheil Zandukeli St
According to Google Maps reviews (4.6 from 630+): a pretty wine restaurant with a garden courtyard where you can hear the birds — come in good weather and sit outside. Creative small plates to go with the wine: smoked fish, bone marrow, pork belly, miso cabbage, and a white chocolate mousse with burnt marshmallow for dessert. Excellent wine list and service. Pricey for Tbilisi, and some found the food ordinary.
Wine Factory N1
Vera · wine bar and cellar · daily 9:00–2:00, Sat–Sun until 3:00
Google Maps · Facebook · 1 Vasil Petriashvili St
According to Google Maps reviews (4.6 from 1,600): an old wine factory turned into a space with bars. The most interesting part is the historic cellar of old wines: you can't go in, but a board lists the bottles and vintages, many from the 1800s. Staff know their wine, help you choose and sometimes give a short tour.
Sma - Craft Beer Bar
Sololaki · craft beer bar · 20–30 ₾ (≈$8–11) · daily 16:00–0:30
Google Maps · website · 48 Lado Asatiani St
According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 760+): a tiny bar with a few tables, a piano by the door, 80s posters and a sleeping cat. A good list of local craft beer, from tomato beer to stouts, and surprisingly good food for the size, burger included. It feels like a house party hosted by the bartender and friends. Space is tight, so you won't always get a seat.
Ploho Bar
Sololaki · bar · 10–20 ₾ (≈$4–8) · daily 19:00–1:00
Google Maps · Telegram · 8 Amaghleba St
According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 220+): a small community bar where you feel like a regular from the start — for many visitors, it's where their first night in Tbilisi happened. Low prices, good beer, interesting cocktails; try the Ukrainian cider. The bartender and the conversations at the bar get the most praise.
Tsota Tsota Craft Beer Pub
Old Tbilisi · craft beer pub · 20–30 ₾ (≈$8–11) · daily 16:00–1:00
Google Maps · website · 7/20 Geronti Kikodze St
According to Google Maps reviews (4.6 from 1,100+): the pub of the Megobrebi brewery — lots of beers on tap and in cans, with tasting sets. Reviewers like the sours, the IPA, an imperial coconut stout and odd ones like cucumber and tomato beer; the bartenders happily explain each. Beer sets come with wings and chicken strips. The interior is more grungy than cosy, and evenings get packed — come early.
AMBAVI
Old Tbilisi · hidden bar · 10–60 ₾ (≈$4–23) · Mon–Thu 20:00–2:00, Fri–Sat 19:00–4:00, Sun 19:00–2:00
Google Maps · Facebook · 12 Galaktion Tabidze St
According to Google Maps reviews (4.4 from 470+): a hidden bar — in through the battered door of an old building, up a grand Soviet staircase and through another unmarked door. Inside are two rooms with different music, one for smokers and one for non-smokers, open late. Busiest at weekends; weekdays can be empty. Downsides: small cocktails for the price and strict face control.
Meoba Bar
Chugureti · bar
Google Maps · website · 4 Constitution St
According to Google Maps reviews (4.3 from 670+): a small, popular bar with low prices where you can sit or dance. They'll mix cocktails that aren't on the menu, and there are snacks and sandwiches, vegetarian ones too. Guests pick the music on a jukebox — 1 lari a song, lots of 90s hits. It's smoky, seats are limited, and some bartenders can be unfriendly.
Socium Bar
Old Tbilisi · cocktail bar · 30–80 ₾ (≈$11–30) · Sun–Thu 19:00–2:00, Fri–Sat until 4:00
Google Maps · 20 Giorgi Akhvlediani St
According to Google Maps reviews (4.6 from 100+): a bar right in the centre with rock and mellow music — good for a glass of wine at the end of the day. Reviewers like the fairly priced cocktails, the foosball table and a dedicated outdoor smoking area. One guest complains they were only told the foosball table was broken after ordering.
One last thing
The Sololaki bars are tiny: Sma has just a few tables and Tsota Tsota is packed by evening, so come early on a Friday. AMBAVI is liveliest at weekends — on weeknights it can be empty, and the door policy is strict.
