Welcome to the blog. It lives inside a computer that boots like it's 1998, which feels right: the best personal websites were always a little bit of an operating system and a little bit of a diary.
what's on the desktop
- About — the short version of who I am, plus a suitcase. The code is somewhere on the site.
- Travels — a map, a travel log and a list of places I'd send a friend to. 177 cities and counting.
- Guestbook — sign it. Every message reaches me directly.
- Gallery and Folder — photos developed by hand and paper I picked up around the world.
- Minesweeper, Tanks, Solitaire — with one shared hall of fame, so your best run stays on the wall.
- Media Player — the mixtape. You can add a track too, if it's yours to share.
- Paint — draw something, save it, send it to me.
why a blog
Some things don't fit in a guestbook entry or a travel log line: stories from the road, projects, things I learned the hard way. They go here, one post at a time, readable on a phone and without any cookies.
Posts also come as an RSS feed, for those of us who never stopped using it.
