Best bars in Belgrade: 12 cocktail, rakija and beer bars

· · 8 min read

Belgrade is a city of bars that stay open late. Ten of them come from my list of saved places: cocktail bars in Stari grad, Dorćol and Vračar, breweries, and a club on a river barge below the fortress. Rakija and the city's best-known craft beer bar were missing, so I added two places that travel guides recommend, both checked on Google: still open, rated 4.2 or higher. For now the descriptions are put together from Google Maps reviews, and I'll add my own notes as I visit.

Prices are Google's average spend per person, valid as of 7 October 2026. Rate: 100 RSD ≈ $0.95.

In short

  • Cocktails with no menu: Riddle Bar. Tell them what you like and the bartender invents a drink; book after 21:00.
  • One street, three places: Dobračina in Dorćol has Kissa10 with its Asian food, the Gvint brewery and Rakia Bar with its tastings of local rakija.
  • Beer: Docker Brewery with its beer garden, Axiom with one of the widest draft craft selections in town, and Samo Pivo with a big courtyard and Serbian craft.
  • Until morning: Zappa Barka, a splav below the fortress with gigs, until 5:00 on Saturdays.

Riddle Bar

Skadarlija · no-menu cocktails · 1,000–3,500 RSD (≈$10–34) · daily 18:00–2:00
Google Maps · website · Skadarska 9

According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 1,200+): a bar with no menu. You describe the flavours you like and the bartender invents a cocktail; ask for something like last night's and you still get a new drink. Visitors come back two nights in a row on a short trip. Sit at the bar to watch the bartenders work. The door is easy to miss, so ring the bell; book after 21:00.

Bife bar

Stari grad · cocktails & infusions · 1,000–1,500 RSD (≈$10–15) · Wed–Sun 16:00–1:00, closed Mon–Tue
Google Maps · Instagram · Maršala Birjuzova 2-4

According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 306): a tiny bar that doubles as an art space: every glass is different and comes from flea markets, the chairs don't match, and there are odd details everywhere. The thing to order is the house infusions, served in unusual shot glasses, plus classic cocktails, noticeably cheaper than the neighbours. DJs Thursday to Sunday, no smoking inside. You order at the bar, and it gets crowded at weekends.

Leposava bar

Kosančićev venac · bar · 500–2,000 RSD (≈$5–19) · daily 10:00–0:00, Fri–Sat until 1:00
Google Maps · Instagram · Velike stepenice 6

According to Google Maps reviews (4.8 from 491): a small bar with an easy-to-miss door right on a staircase climbing the hill. Tight but cosy inside, with well-made cocktails and craft beer, and quirky seating out on the steps. It opens in the morning, so you can drop in for a coffee and end up staying. According to one review, cats are welcome inside but dogs aren't.

Kissa10

Dorćol · cocktail bar with Asian food · 1,000–3,500 RSD (≈$10–34) · Mon–Thu 17:00–0:00, Fri until 1:00, Sat 16:00–1:00, Sun 16:00–0:00
Google Maps · Instagram · Dobračina 29

According to Google Maps reviews (4.5 from 312): a bar in a former apartment, with vinyl, low light and a house-party feel. Asian cooking from an open kitchen: reviewers like the smashed cucumber, seafood noodles and kimchi, and there are more vegan dishes than usual for Belgrade. Creative cocktails and Serbian orange wine. The downsides are high prices and weekend crowds; weeknights are calmer.

Nekrasova The Bar

Vračar · cocktail bar · 500–3,000 RSD (≈$5–29) · Mon–Sat 14:00–0:00, Fri–Sat until 1:00, Sun 16:00–0:00
Google Maps · Instagram · Kumanovska 6

According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 268): a small, cosy bar in Vračar with friendly bartenders and fair prices; reviewers like the Negroni, and a group can work through half the list. On the minus side, one cocktail came watered down with ice and one bill had an extra drink on it, so check yours.

Supertramp Bar Belgrade

Stari grad · American bar · 1,500–2,000 RSD (≈$15–19) · daily 12:00–0:00, Fri–Sat until 1:00
Google Maps · Instagram · Maršala Birjuzova 10A

According to Google Maps reviews (4.4 from 201): from the people behind the Supertramp garage bars in Tbilisi, an American roadside look with Coors lamps, a motorbike hanging from the ceiling and a pool table. Reviewers like the Juicy Lucy, a pljeskavica-style burger with cheddar inside, and the vegetarian options. The pool table is too close to the wall, and the food also has some scathing reviews (fish and chips, a Reuben).

Rakia Bar & Shop

Dorćol · rakija and cocktails · 1,000–3,000 RSD (≈$10–29) · Mon 12:00–20:00, Tue–Thu 12:00–0:00, Fri 12:00–1:00, Sat 17:00–1:00, Sun 17:00–0:00
Google Maps · website · Dobračina 5

According to Google Maps reviews (4.9 from 751): a small, cosy bar devoted to locally made rakija. They run tastings, talk you through every kind and patiently find one you like even if you think you don't like rakija. The cocktails get praise too, the banana one especially, and the bartenders make drinks to your taste.

Beer and live music

Axiom Beograd

Dorćol · craft beer · 500–2,000 RSD (≈$5–19) · daily 12:00–0:00, Fri–Sat until 1:00
Google Maps · booking · Višnjićeva 3

According to Google Maps reviews (4.6 from 178): a beer bar with one of the widest choices of draught craft beer in the city: ales, rare styles, and Russian breweries such as AF Brew. Cosy, with snacks, and the staff are happy to talk about beer and Serbian history alike. From outside it doesn't look like a beer bar, so it's easy to walk past.

Gvint pivnica

Dorćol · brewery · 1,000–1,500 RSD (≈$10–15) · daily 12:00–0:00
Google Maps · website · Dobračina 59b

According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 285): a small, quiet brewery that specialises in its own lagers. The food is a pleasant surprise, especially the pork with a Bavarian roll, and it works for lunch too. The burgers (from 1,300 RSD), though, one guest called the worst in town.

Docker Brewery & Beer Garden

Dorćol · brewery & beer garden · daily 12:00–1:00
Google Maps · website · Žorža Klemansoa 27b

According to Google Maps reviews (4.7 from 2,300+): a big brewery with a beer garden and so many taps it's hard to choose, from lagers to a cherry sour and the house Brain Blocker. Plenty of seating inside and out, and reviewers rate the burgers and chicken wings. Calm in the daytime, much livelier at night.

Samo Pivo

Stari grad · craft beer · 500–1,000 RSD (≈$5–10) · daily 12:00–0:00, Fri–Sat until 1:00
Google Maps · website · Cetinjska 15

According to Google Maps reviews (4.6 from 4,700+): one of the anchors of Belgrade's craft beer scene, with Serbian craft and imports on tap plus a few beers of its own, and staff who know their stuff. A big courtyard with benches and fair prices. Since the move to Cetinjska some regulars feel the atmosphere is gone; food is snacks only, the courtyard gets stuffy with mosquitoes in summer, and one waitress draws repeated complaints for rudeness.

Zappa Barka

Kalemegdan · splav club & gigs · 500–3,000 RSD (≈$5–29) · Mon–Thu 20:00–3:00, Fri until 4:00, Sat until 5:00, Sun 17:00–3:00
Google Maps · Facebook · by the Nebojša Tower, Bulevar vojvode Bojovića

According to Google Maps reviews (4.2 from 1,300+): a splav, a floating club below the fortress, which guests call the last really good splav in the city. Different bands every night, alternative gigs, DJs and nights of old Yugoslav music, with a crowd of all ages. Watch the gigs from the balcony; drinks are brought to you during the show, and cards are accepted. There are occasional mix-ups with sound and table bookings.

One last thing

Belgrade runs late: most of the bars here stay open until midnight or later, and Zappa Barka until morning. But Bife bar is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so plan the start of the week elsewhere.

More on Belgrade: where to eat, what to see.
